POZZUOLI – This morning at the stand set up by the Civil Protection on the Pozzuoli seafront for the earthquake simulation, only four out of two hundred registered reservations showed up. They were then joined by five other people from Pozzuoli who had not booked, but who were on the seafront. Instead, hundreds of people took a bath. A real flop that also disheartened the municipal administration. «I want to say to citizens that I understand their concerns, but we are working more than ever on the bradyseism phenomenon, and we must give citizens security by carrying out the activities we are implementing”, the mayor of Pozzuoli, Luigi Manzoni, told Ansa. « Everything that needed to be done – underlined the mayor – we are doing it without wasting time. I don’t feel like condemning anyone who didn’t come, I just want to understand with data in hand and work on the critical issues because here we are looking for a solution to any problem. I also reflect on the fact that we are carrying out exercises and at the same time we are experiencing a state of emergency in Pozzuoli, so this could be one of the causes. The communication to citizens about this simulation has been made – concluded the mayor – now I think we need to actually understand the reasons for this low participation».
