The official proclamation of the lawyer Alessandro Mager as Mayor of Sanremo took place this morning at the Court of Imperia.
President Eduardo Bracco has in fact declared Mager as the winning candidate in the ballot held in recent days.
The civic candidate Mager beat the centre-right candidate, Gianni Rolando, with 460 votes.
In the first round Mager had obtained 32.31% (7,957 votes) against Rolando’s 42.37% (10,436 votes). To close the gap with the direct contender, Mager made an agreement (without any relation) with the centre-left mayoral candidate Fulvio Fellegara who had obtained 19.87% in the first round.

A pact that saw the ‘Common Project’ list and the representatives of the ‘Sanremo Insieme’ movement slip away. A lump sum which, however, did not invalidate the main intent of the agreement: to win the elections in the run-off and so it was.
This afternoon at 4.30 pm the mayor will take office in the Municipality. Classic expected handover with Alberto Biancheri, who will definitively leave the organization after 10 intense years of government. According to those in the know, the first consultations with all the parties that contributed to yesterday’s victory will begin on Thursday.
Not an easy challenge for Mager, also based on the agreement made with Generazione Sanremo and the Democratic Party, expressed by Fulvio Fellegara. An agreement which, numbers in hand, led Mager to victory and without which, today the mayor of Sanremo would be Gianni Rolando.
