overwhelmed by the flooding of the Termina river in Parma

Emilia Romagna is among the areas most affected by bad weather these days. Yesterday Bruno Uccelli, an 85-year-old from Traversetolo, ended up being overwhelmed by the fury of the river, while checking that the flood did not come close to his sausage factory.

He was called Bruno Uccelli, was 85 years old and resident in Traversetolo, the man who died on Tuesday 25 June, overwhelmed by the flooding of the Termina in the Parma area. The tragedy occurred in a few moments, around 5.30pm.

The elderly man ended up falling into the water, overwhelmed by the fury of the river, while he was checking that the flood did not come close to his sausage factory in Castione. The earth practically crumbled under her feet: despite her efforts, the current dragged him with it. His body was found near the Lido Valtermina facilities, where he had been entangled in some plants.

His death shocked everyone Traversetolo. Mayor Simone dell’Orto, who personally followed the search phases and was present when the body was found, was shocked.

Bad weather Emilia-Romagna, mud is shoveled from the road in the Parma area: “We had to do everything ourselves”

An enterprising person – the mayor describes him -. I met him when I was a child and he was a builder. I lived in one of the houses he had built. Then he abandoned this path to build the first factory together with his children. A curious person, who always wanted to get busy, who worked his whole life. He didn’t deserve such an end.”

Bad weather in Emilia Romagna

L’Emilia Romagna was undoubtedly one of the regions most affected by yesterday’s bad weather (together with the Veneto, and in particular the Polesine, where a tornado struck), with flooded streams and canals and overflowing rivers, particularly in the plain between Modena and Piacenza.

Some families were evacuated to Langhirano and Mulazzano (Parma), but also to Campogalliano (Modena). A landslide led to the closure of traffic on the 665 Massese state road, between km 34 and 36, in the locality of Tizzano Val Parma, in both directions
