Increasingly a treasure chest of the arts, Giardino Scotto hosts the summer music festival again this year: from June 30 to July 30, a month of pure entertainment, with jazz, folk, rock, indie and world concerts. The event is the result of a co-design call published by the Culture Office of the Municipality of Pisa aimed at city cultural associations, won this year by the partnership of associations composed of Pisa Folk, Pisa Jazz- ExWide, Re-play, Borderline Club and The Thing. It ranges across all musical genres, in a whirlwind of engaging rhythms for every age group: the purpose of the festival is precisely to disseminate musical culture as much as possible in a transversal way, capturing the tastes of a wide audience. Yesterday morning in the Baleari room of the Municipality of Pisa, the presentation of the event took place, in the presence of the councilor for culture Filippo Bedini and the representatives of the associations Francesco Mariotti of Pisa Jazz – Ex Wide, Mariangela Barbarito for Pisa Folk Festival and Andrea Vescio for The Thing. “Last year’s numbers are important, which see the Scotto garden increasingly as a place of aggregation and knowledge – Bedini stated – the world of associations is becoming increasingly important, and as an administration we are happy that the path is always growing, so much so that we have to work hard to find increasingly larger spaces to allocate to cultural events”.

The program satisfies every genre of listening, starting on June 30th with Folkstone and Deathless Legacy, to continue in the following days with C’Mon Tigre on July 3rd, the Supertaranta Ensamble on July 4th, a special ensemble that brings together all the most iconic of Salento music, proposed by PisaFolk, at which time the Scotto will become an arena of music and dance of the Neapolitan tradition. The month dedicated to all musical genres also sees Davide D’Ambrogio with the rural songs of Aspromonte, on 5 July, but also the triumph of jazz with Roberto Gatto, on 11 July, and Enrico Rava with “The fearless Five” , on July 14th. The associations involved in the event explained the work and commitment behind the final programme, the dimension of territoriality, trying to give space to musicians linked to the Pisa area, but also the desire to offer a product suitable for everyone, even from the point of view of accessibility: “not only controlled prices but also free admissions – stated Mariangela Barbarito – to truly make it possible for everyone to access this fundamental aspect of the individual’s cultural education”.
