Rome, 25 June. (askanews) – The work created by the internationally renowned artist Michela Picchi at the Garbatella metro station in Rome represents a Roman sunset, the result of an innovative urban redevelopment project that combines art, sustainability and attention to the territory. It is an ecomurales born from the collaboration between the international ice cream brand NUII, belonging to Froneri, and Yourban 2030. Luca Regano, CEO of Froneri Italy, explained: “We are ice cream makers, we make products that have the idea of bringing a smile, be tied to good memories. When it was proposed to collaborate on a project of this nature we welcomed this with enthusiasm because it specifically resonated with all the values of the NUII brand, which has in its core that of linking to moments of pleasure, in all moments of daily life . It is clear that art is an extraordinary vehicle and has the ability to inspire any human being, any individual, at a time when their head is somewhere else, caught up in problems, caught up in stress, caught up in tensions.”

This mural, thanks to the use of photocatalytic and air purifying paints, contributes to improving the quality of the air in the surrounding area, as explained by Miguel Gotor, Councilor for Culture of Rome Capital: “It increases and improves the decoration, there is a work by an artist famous all over the world, between Berlin, Hong Kong and above all there is a message of environmental and ecological sustainability which is very important”.

NUII, since its inception, has carried out various initiatives in the field of sustainability, starting from the two flagship PEACE projects in Namibia and the Koala Re-Wilding Project, in support of the most fragile ecosystems and the most at-risk species, in collaboration with the non-governmental association Wild Ark. This nature makes it the ideal partner for the creation of a work that conveys a strong commitment to social responsibility in line with the values expressed by Yourban 2030. “Thanks to Michela Picchi we have given a reading of nature through its patterns, its typical waves, which are also reminiscent of NUII’s chocolate waves. – said Giuseppe Fascia, Global Manager of NUII –

The link is the fact that we have given an area of escape from everyday reality in a container already shared, already existing within the Garbatella district”.
