This afternoon Tuesday 25 June “favorable conditions are foreseen for the development of strong thunderstorms, with possible effects and associated damage, more likely on the central sector of the region, which has been waning since the evening. Precipitation may generate new ones elevations in the watercourses, already affected by the floods, which in the valley sections of the central-western sector will reach levels close to or higher than the riverbank levels or the historical maximums recorded,” we read in the bulletin. “In the mountainous and hilly areas of the region, localized landslide phenomena are possible on slopes characterized by particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions, runoff on the slopes and rapid rises in hydrometric levels in smaller watercourses. In the mountainous and hilly areas of the central part of the region, widespread landslide phenomena are possible on slopes characterized by particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions“.
For tomorrow Wednesday 26 June,”no significant weather phenomena are expected for warning purposes. However, in the afternoon, the possibility of scattered and short-lived thunderstorms, locally also of strong intensity, is expected, more likely along the Apennine belt, with possible associated effects and damage. Elevations are also possible on the minor hydraulic network. The current floods are expected to spread in the valley sections of the rivers in the central-western sector, with possible occupation of the floodplain areas and involvement of the banks. In mountainous and hilly areas, localized landslides are still possible on slopes characterized by particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions, following the rainfall of the previous days. The color code orange in the central hilly mountain sector of the region it is linked to the widespread critical conditions present in the area“.
