“Christopher continued to moan, making a death sound, and they told him to shut up. I was astonished, I wanted to stop them but it seemed like they were no longer thinking. Despite what had happened we went to the sea to swim, on the beach of the Croce del Sud establishment and there, (…) he got rid of the knife that he had wrapped in a sock of (…) stained with blood, throwing it behind the rocks facing the beach, on the open sea side”. AND’ the testimony to the agents of the Pescara Flying Squad of one of the children who witnessed the murder of Thomas Christofer Luciani on Sunday afternoonthe 16-year-old stabbed several times for a debt of 200 euros and left, dying, in an area not far from the station by his killers, his peers.

The two children arrested are both 16 years old. They convinced the victim to follow them to a secluded area and with a knife they took turns attacking the ‘debtor’, without ever showing a moment’s hesitation. “I saw Christopher on the ground bleeding – the witness said – and I immediately understood that (…) he had stabbed him. He continued to slash Christopher, who was lying on the ground and moaning. At a certain point also (…) took from the hands of (…) the knife with which he also stabbed Christopher several times. One stabbed him 15 times, the other stabbed him another 10 times with the same knife with the black blade. . Before dragging him to an even more secluded spot, as another boy said: “They insulted him, kicked him and spat on him.”

The 16-year-old’s grandmother: “You can’t kill a boy like that”

“You can’t kill a little boy like that”, says Olga, Thomas’ grandmother. And, speaking of her tiny nephew, still with the face of a child and whom she raised after his parents’ disinterest, from a very young age, she adds: “He was a boy like many others, not a criminal, not a drug addict, not a drug addict. He was like almost everyone else his age, he didn’t like rules too much. He made plans, he undid them… We never thought it could end like this, on that lawn.”

Last November he disappeared from home for three days. Then they found him. And last Friday he escaped from the rehabilitation community in Molise where he was. In his future there was a hairdressing course, which he was attending. “Maybe this would have been his path – says the grandmother – perhaps, but we will never know. I hope that justice takes its course”.

Autopsy assignment tomorrow

The task for the autopsy on the sixteen-year-old will be given tomorrow by the juvenile prosecutor’s office of L’Aquila, which will be carried out by the medical examiner Cristian D’Ovidio, who has already carried out, on the evening of the discovery of the body, an initial external examination on the body , counting around 25 slashes apparently inflicted with a serrated knife, like those used by divers. In short, the victim was massacred. D’Ovidio could proceed with the autopsy tomorrow.
