Jorge Martin took second position on the occasion of Dutch GP qualifyingeighth stage of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship. Great steps forward for the current leader of the drivers’ standings who, after a complicated Friday, has found confidence in the moment that counts.
Specifically, the centaur riding for Ducati Pramac he recorded a gap of 81 thousandths on poleman Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaiawho has had a perfect weekend up to this point, so much so that he has become a point of reference as confirmed by Martin himself in the parc fermé, where he tried to put a bit of pressure on his direct opponent:
“I did 30 and 8 and he did 30 and 5 – Martin said – Pecco is on another level. There are three tenths of difference between him and me. Yesterday I was two steps behind, today maybe one or a half. We have come quite close, I am in good shape. We will try to stay close to Pecco because he is riding very well“.
The native of Madrid then commented: “Yesterday I had a very unstable bike, today we tried to keep it a bit more steady in the high-speed corners. This move gave me confidence. Putting it all together I improved both in pace and in the flying lap. In the end there are many with a good pace, but the reference remains Pecco. If we make a good start and stay close to him we can do it”.
