Porta Elisa Stadium, municipality begins resurfacing pitch

LUCCA – With an investment of 70 thousand euros, the municipal administration of Lucca financed the new turf. Another 140 thousand will be used for the new video surveillance system.

Work has begun on the resurfacing of the turf at the Porta Elisa stadium. An intervention by the municipal administration of Lucca, owner of the plant, which after having anticipated that it will participate in the modernization of the light towers is now preparing the field for the next season.
This is a job entrusted to the HTS company, and aims to guarantee a high quality playing field for the next football season in collaboration with a company renowned in the sector and already responsible for the resurfacing of the turf of the stadiums of Empoli, Catanzaro and Cosenza . The renovation will take place in three different phases.
The first involves the total removal of the old turf. Subsequently, a layer of silica sand will be applied to improve the drainage of the field, facilitate the establishment of new sowings and the regeneration of the turf. Finally, the planting of the new surface will be carried out.
The works, for a total cost of just under 70 thousand euros, will be completed in time for the start of the championship, ensuring that the pitch is fully operational for the 2024-2025 sports season.
Lucchese, which will benefit from this latest intervention on what was one of the most beautiful fields in Italy, but which the works of recent years have left full of yellow stains, thanked the municipal administration for taking charge of the total regeneration of the turf. The municipality of Lucca will also take care of the new video surveillance system of Porta Elisa with another investment of 140 thousand euros.
