The social eye center promoted by the Salerno section of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired will be inaugurated on 27 June at 4pm, in via Aurelio Nicolodi 13. The new UICI service will ensure free visits and eye care consultations for the population. The initiative aims to prevent and treat eye diseases, in particular for the less well-off categories. The President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, the Mayor of Salerno Vincenzo Napoli, Mario Barbuto National President of UICI, Vincenzo Massa National Manager of UICI, Pietro Piscitelli Regional President of UICI, Raffaele Rosa President of UICI Salerno participate in the ribbon cutting. The Archbishop of Salerno, Campagna, Acerno will bless the structure. Andrea Bellandi.

Uici has been involved for over half a century in providing assistance and services to the blind and visually impaired who are guaranteed medical care, assistance and legal services. With the Sociake Eye Center, directed by Dr. Francesco Scotia, UICI expands its network of services by extending them to the entire population and not just to members and family members. The intent is to develop eye health with efficient checks and latest generation equipment. The Center will further strengthen the prevention campaigns that UICI carries out periodically: World Glaucoma Week; Watch out for children; Prevention doesn’t go on holiday; World Sight Day Protecting eye health and sight is a social mission of great solidarity importance. It contributes to personal and collective well-being. Supports vulnerable individuals. It deploys the best technologies to improve the quality of life and work. During the inaugural ceremony, the characteristics and objectives of the initiative will be illustrated in detail.
