«The Meloni government will cut 21 million in transfers to Brescia municipalities in 5 years»

«The Meloni government intends to cut more than 21 million euros in the next five years to the municipalities of the province of Brescia”. This is the alarm raised by the vice president of the Regional Council Emilio Del Bono, former mayor of Leonessa, cwhich reports the data processed on the basis of a draft decree for the spending review of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. These are cuts expected in current spending over a five-year period from 2024 to 2028, designed to keep public finances under control, as Europe requests. The fact is that the local authorities will once again pay the price: the municipality of Brescia will suffer cuts for more than 5 million euros, 600,000 euros less for Desenzano del Garda, 376,000 euros less in the coffers of Lumezzane, 342,000 less for Sarezzo, 307,000 less for Montichiari and so on depending on the contributions received from the Pnrr. HERE IS THE COMPLETE STATEMENT OF THE CUTS MUNICIPALITY BY MUNICIPALITY Chiari will have 274 thousand euros less, Ghedi 124 thousand, Lonato 240 thousand, Rezzato 199 thousand euros, Gavardo 263 thousand, Darfo 270 thousand, Ospitaletto 260, and so on passing through the 172 thousand euros for Iseo, 198 thousand for Manerba del Garda, 129 thousand for Nuvolera, 145 thousand for Gambara, 109 thousand for Ponte di Legno, 80 thousand for Padenghe, 92 thousand for Paratico, up to 12 thousand for the small Magasa.

According to data reported by vice-president Del Bono, in Lombardy, in the next five years, the municipalities will be cut by 200 million euros. «In the Government’s intentions the cut would be made in an unreasonable and paradoxical manner, in proportion to the contributions assigned from the Pnrr resources, effectively penalizing the Municipalities most involved in the construction of public works. The Government gives with one hand, takes back with the other” comments Del Bono who continues: “The cuts to the Municipalities will severely hit delicate services for citizens such as in particular social services, staff hiring, transport, ordinary maintenance of the heritage, cultural initiatives, care for the elderly. This policy of broken promises appears increasingly unbearable, which places its problems caused by the inability to face priority choices that are always postponed on local administrations. Is this the perspective of the role of the local autonomies conceived by the champions of the differentiated autonomy of this Government?”.
