ALEXANDRIA – Amazon, in collaboration with theGi Group employment agency, started the selection of warehouse staff for the Alessandria supply centre. After the start of the selection of managerial figures a few months ago, starting today, through the dedicated page on the Amazon website and on those of Gi Group it is possible to apply for warehouse operator positions in the new factory, in which the company plans to create 400 permanent jobs over the next three years.
By connecting to the site, people interested in working at Amazon will also have the possibility to register for the virtual meeting (Recruiting Day), organized by the employment agencies that collaborate with Amazon for the selection of personnel, during which it will be presented in detail how the selection process will work and the peculiarities of the tasks.
The events will be held starting July 9th. “The new center in Alessandria, which is expected to open by the end of 2024 with an investment of over 120 million euros, represents the first logistics site of this type in Italy – explains Lorenzo Barbo, Head of Amazon Italy Logistics – The works for the construction of the new site are progressing according to the established times, so we are confident that the opening will take place within this year, as announced. Alessandria represents yet another confirmation of our commitment to continue investing in Italy and Piedmont, where 3,700 people already work. The site will allow us to continue to create quality jobs in the region after the opening of three distribution centers in Torrazza Piemonte (TO), Agognate (NO) and Vercelli, where our Operations Innovation Lab is based, three sorting depots in Grugliasco, Brandizzo and Alessandria, an Amazon Fresh site and Amazon Alexa offices in Turin”.
The supply center of Alexandria will be used for contribute to the positioning of products in the Amazon network, transferring the items to distribution centers located in Italy and the rest of Europe, allowing them to better serve Amazon customers through greater selection and lower costs. THE employees will receive an initial gross salary of 1,764 euros per month, for 14 months over the course of a yearor. It is, as Amazon explains, “of an increase of 21% compared to 2019, with an entry salary 8% higher than the salary levels envisaged by the 5th level of the Logistics, Goods Transport and Shipping CCNL. Added to this are benefits such as health insurance and private medical care, discounts on purchases on Amazon.it and meal vouchers for all employees. Amazon also offers its employees further opportunities such as the innovative Career Choice program, which covers up to 95% of the cost of tuition and textbooks for those who wish to specialize in a specific field by attending professional courses, for an amount of up to €8,000 in four years. Amazon has obtained the Top Employers 2024 certification for Italy, confirming the prestigious certificate also at a European level, demonstrating the company’s dedication to offering a positive working environment for its employees also at an international level.
