In recent days the provincial director of CNA Federmoda to discuss the crisis in the fashion sector and its numerous problems. During the meeting, the entrepreneurs reiterated some key points on which the work of the trade association is based.
The provincial president of CNA Federmoda Fermo, Paolo Mattiozzi, declared: “The crucial step for the survival of the Fermo-Maceratese district is the protection of the supply chain. In such a delicate situation for companies in this sector, we have underlined the importance of two institutional pillars: the Provincial Table for Competitiveness and Development of the Fermo area and the Regional Fashion Table. These bodies are fundamental for the adoption of measures aimed at supporting companies in the sector and overcoming this critical phase which has been going on for too long”.
Mattiozzi added: “These tables are the place where institutions, employers’ associations and social partners they collaborate for the stability of the territory. The Regional Fashion Table has achieved significant results thanks to the synergy created, offering concrete measures for the sector. The added value of this table is the implementation of the proposals coming from the Provincial Table for Competitiveness and Development of the Fermo area, which represents the needs of the territory with the largest number of fashion companies in the Marche”.
The Regional Fashion Table plays a crucial role in monitoring of the production fabric and in defining proposals for the consolidation and growth of the sector, representing the critical issues to the Government. Andrea Caranfageneral director of CNA Fermo and head of CNA Federmoda, recalled: “CNA, together with the other associations, has developed numerous proposals for the companies in the district: the suspension of contributions and tax payments from June 2024 to June 2025, with a gradual return of taxes starting from June 2025 at zero rate; there redundancy fund in derogation for all types of fashion businesses; the exemption of participation fees for events Ice Agency until July 31st; the use of the fund for the Made in Italy for 0 interest loans, repayable in 6 years; the cancellation of the recovery of the tax credit for research and development. Also essential are the reduction of labor costs and VAT on non-luxury goods”.
With a view to protecting the production chain, Caranfa reiterated the importance of defining incentives for the creation of SMEs and measures to encourage ecological and energy transition of businesses, sustainability paths, digitalisation strategies and promotion abroad. Furthermore, measures similar to those adopted during the pandemic are necessary to encourage reconversion, protecting the economic and productive fabric and employment, in collaboration with the Marche region and the Marche Chamber of Commerce.
