Via Mercé car parks in Modica, councilor Spadaro asks: “works suspended?” –

Question by councilor Giovanni Spadaro on the car park in via Mercè in Modica adjacent to the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie.

“I noticed – writes councilor Spadaro – that work has begun along Via Mercè to create car parks and, as per the attached photos, it seems that they have been suspended and/or blocked”

Spadaro asks to know if the work is underwaythe:

− were authorized by the relevant bodies;

− I am inserted within the redevelopment project of the Churchyard of the Madonna delle Grazie or are included in the Variation Assessment;

− were suspended and/or blocked and if so for what reasons.

We remind you that the creation of these car parks is essential for those who have to go to the Sanctuary, especially after the redevelopment of the churchyard which effectively eliminated the existing car parks. The administration had in fact undertaken to find an alternative solution and to do so rather quickly to extinguish the numerous controversies arising precisely from the difficulty of finding a parking space. We confidently await, together with councilor Spadaro, a quick response from the administration of Palazzo San Domenico.
