Christopher Thomas Luciani’s life was undoubtedly difficult, complicated but it ended really badly and above all too soon.
A young life that was about to turn 17 was cut short with unprecedented violence through 25 stab wounds inflicted by two peers from good families.
Then again, the concept of a good family should perhaps be revised if the results are these.
Thomas, as already happened in October 2023, had fled last Friday from the community of Isernia where he was at the disposal of the judges following a small conviction for small crimes, also related to drugs.
The boy killed in the Baden Powell park in via Raffaello in Pescara had therefore been in disarray for a few days. In the re-education program he was supposed to attend a hairdressing workshop in Campobasso. Based on what we learned, in the last two years the boy had also caused some problems to the social services of Rosciano where he had lived since the age of three with his grandmother after being abandoned by his parents. «A shocked community», admits the mayor of Rosciano Simone Polozzi.

Thomas was well known by the municipal structures of Rosciano, and according to what we learned he was considered a fragile child with problems, “scarred by life, but as long as he was looked after by us he was under control”, they explain. Then adolescence, so much so that his escapes from home in recent times were frequent, especially since he had started school in Pescara. Whoever heard the grandmother spoke of a destroyed woman, who was notified shortly before midnight of what had happened. The hypotheses about his return to Pescara (perhaps with the cell phone supplied) as an illegal immigrant are therefore linked to the settlement of any accounts prior to last February, the period in which he had been assigned to the community of Isernia. The community had reported his failure to return since Friday.
«The thing you don’t expect», is the laconic comment of Mayor Palozzi, «is that what was supposed to be an executioner has become a victim of subjects of a society apparently with more certainties than him, those who are called respectable boys» . A teacher of Thomas reveals how many tried to help the boy to try to get him back on the right path but the young man’s family and personal situation was now decidedly compromised.
