Last weekend, Italian athletics was the protagonist with two very important events: the Italian Heptathlon Championships in Lana and the Italian Masters Championships in Rome, at the Paolo Rosi stadium.

Italian Heptathlon Championships – Lana

Regarding the first appointment, among the protagonists who took to the track in Lana, Giulia Senni, already a bronze medalist last year at the under 18 tricolors, confirmed her talent by gaining a solid position in the rankings. At the end of the two days of competition, in fact, only 16 points separated Senni from the podium.

The Athletics multiplexer Endas Cesena also has a lot to complain about due to a failure in the timing system which forced her to repeat the 200 meter test. Despite this unexpected event, the Cesena native collected two new personal records: 14.91 seconds in the 100 hurdles and 42.74 meters in the javelin.

These results also represent the pass for participation in the Italian Individual Category Championships which will be held in Rieti next month.

Satisfaction also for the debutant Viola Vincenzi, who in her first Italian race finished in nineteenth place with a new personal best of 4103 points. The young student achieved four new personal bests in individual events: 16.50 seconds in the hurdles, 1.61 meters in the high jump, 8.97 meters in the shot put and 2.39.87 in the 800 meters, demonstrating promising potential for the future.

At the same time, the historic Paolo Rosi stadium in Rome hosted the Italian Masters Athletics Championships. The event saw the participation of athletes from all over Italy, demonstrating that the passion for sport and competition remains strong at all ages. The Endas Cesena Athletics delegation collected 9 medals, 6 of which were gold.

Cristina Sanulli won double gold in the 100 meters (12.99) and 200 meters (26.81) in the F50 category. Two victories also for the jumper Valentina Morigi, landing at 5.20m in the long jump and 10.80m in the triple F40 category. Barbara Capellini achieved gold in the F45 category pole vault with a jump of 3 metres, while Barbara Marinucci was the fastest in the F40 category 400 meters with a time of 1.00.39.

The doyen of the team, the eighty-year-old Luigi Valdifiori, won two silvers in the 100 meters (16.89) and the 400 meters (1.24.91). Good performances also for Manuela Casadei, who for the first time fell under 14 seconds in the 100 meters category F45, and Pierpaolo Senni, making his debut in the 5km walk category M55. Some unexpected events blocked the hurdler Chiara Zoffoli and the jumper Rosalba Luongo.

Also noteworthy are the competitive returns of Orietta Stramiglio and Davide Tappi.
