Two stabbings on Sunday at 7pm at Bagno 44 in Rimini: the injured, fortunately only grazingly, are two very young people from Forlì, a 21-year-old and an 18-year-old. And the attacker, a 24-year-old of Egyptian origin, who works in a car wash in the city, is also connected to Forlì. He had attempted to escape but was arrested in the middle of the night at Rimini station: he was charged with aggravated bodily harm.

According to the reconstruction, it was he who took out a switchblade and struck the blows that hit the two boys who were together with four friends on the beach to take part in an event at the chiringuito: the first was wounded in the side, while the second superficially to the left hand. From the beginning, the stabber’s accomplice, a 30-year-old compatriot, had remained on the beach, blocked and immobilized by some swimmers and the bathroom security staff.

The discussion between the Egyptians and the people of Forlì apparently began due to some rather extreme praise directed by the North Africans towards a 19-year-old girl from Cesena. The two Egyptians, who had previously been reprimanded and removed by the club’s security staff, began to bother the young woman, prompting the other boys in the company to intervene in her defense. At that point the situation quickly escalated. The 24-year-old would have come forward, first punching the 18-year-old from Forlì in the face. At that point, according to the witnesses’ account, he pulled the switchblade out of his pocket, wounding the 21-year-old in the side who was rushing to help his friend, and then returning to attack the 18-year-old, causing a wound to his hand. At that point a fight broke out on the beach, with the 21-year-old also having a pearl necklace ripped from his neck in the excitement. A furious argument which was interrupted by the very rapid intervention of the club’s bouncers. Carabinieri patrols and Rimini state police cars then rushed to the scene. The two injured were entrusted to the care of the emergency room. Luckily the blade of the knife did not damage any vital organs and they will both get away with a few days of prognosis.

The Volanti policemen, after having collected the testimonies of those present, accompanied the 30-year-old Egyptian to the police station and then continued the search for the fugitive for several hours: until the policemen managed to intercept and block the 24-year-old at the train station. The latter, defended by the lawyer Monica Castiglioni, is currently in prison, awaiting validation of the arrest. The Rimini prosecutor’s office has opened a file on the episode.
