(Adnkronos) – Hydrogen, especially green hydrogen deriving from electrolysis powered by clean energy, is fundamental for achieving decarbonisation objectives: the European Union plans to reach 20 million tonnes by 2030, of which 10 million will be produced and the other half imported. With a view to valorising the crucial role of hydrogen in reducing polluting emissions and with the common aim of contributing to accelerating the development of the sector, Italian Exhibition Group and Hannover Fairs International GmbH (Hfi), the Italian branch of Deutsche Messe Ag, have a collaboration agreement has been signed for the joint organization of a new Hydrogen Exhibition supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells within Key – The Energy Transition Expo, the Ieg event on energy transition and efficiency, a point of reference in Southern Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean basin, the next edition of which is scheduled at the Rimini Fair from 5 to 7 March 2025.

Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Europe is organized and managed by Deutsche Messe Ag (Dmag), the large German trade fair company, one of the main worldwide. It takes place within Hannover Messe, the most important European event on industry and automation, and is dedicated to the entire life cycle of hydrogen – in particular green hydrogen as a substitute for fossil fuels – as part of the sustainable industrial transformation.

The Hydrogen Exhibition supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells aims to become, at an international level, the privileged place for discussion on hydrogen issues and its importance for the energy transition, as well as a point of reference for the main players involved, to meet, discuss and support the birth of new projects. The Show constitutes the natural evolution and strengthening of the Key exhibition area dedicated to hydrogen, its applications and the great opportunity that this vector can offer for the decarbonisation of the hard-to-absolute industrial production and transport sectors. “We have always believed in the potential of hydrogen and for this reason we included it among the Key exhibition areas right from the start. Today, we are proud to announce a new joint venture, with a highly relevant and experienced partner such as Hannover Fairs International GmbH, which from the next edition of Key will allow us to further strengthen the presence of hydrogen within our event, with a Entirely dedicated exhibition, destined to become a point of reference at an international level”, commented Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Ieg.

“For almost 30 years, Deutsche Messe AG has been organizing Hydrogen + Fuel Cells Europe, a successful format in which all market participants can exchange ideas every year as part of Hannover Messe. Germany and Italy are the most important industrial partners in Europe and share a common vision of hydrogen. We are therefore proud to be able to work together with Ieg to create positive synergies and an innovative and attractive platform in Italy”, declared Andreas Züge, General Manager of Hannover Fairs International GmbH, Italian Headquarters.
