CAMPOBASSO. With a margin of 399 votes, Marialuisa Forte is the first female mayor of Campobasso. Representative of the progressive area of the centre-left, the former education superintendent of the capital wins the run-off round with 10,510 preferences (50.97%), ‘beating’ his centre-right opponent, Aldo De Bendittis who collects 10,111 votes finals, stopping at 49.03%.
With this result, the centre-left coalition wins 10 seats, to which add the 5 belonging to the Cantiere Civico di Pino Ruta with which the electoral pact for this second round was ‘signed’, while the centre-right gets 17 seats, including that of De Benedittis.
To govern, agreements will probably be needed, but this obstacle will be addressed starting tomorrow. Now big party at the headquarters of the newly elected mayor.
