Alessandro Mager is the new mayor of Sanremo. With a head to head in the last vote he beat Gianni Rolando with 51.18% of the votes (9,977 votes) while his opponent stopped at 48.82% (equal to 9,517 votes). At the end of the party he spoke to the media.
“I’m excited – he said – even though I am, little by little, starting to realize that starting tomorrow my life will change.” Did you ever imagine sitting in that armchair? “Many years ago there was this idea to take on such an important role but, at that time I gave priority to family and profession. Twenty years later things have changed and a year ago I thought of putting this hypothesis into practice.”
Congratulations have arrived from the mayor of Imperia: “I ran a moderate campaign with a contained tone as did my opponent. There were few excesses and no revenge.” The first job to do? “I definitely have to make the team even if for now no one has asked me anything, such has been the trust placed in me. No names on the people, even if I have some ideas in my head but I have to talk about them with many people. I thank Fulvio Fellegara who accepted my request. His help was certainly important and now, weighing the two components is difficult.”
To whom his thanks go: “All 96 candidates, who worked hard and a great team of collaborators, who helped me and gave me support in this long and tiring electoral campaign”. Have you already heard from anyone, including adversaries and allies? “No one but if I hear from Gianni Rolando I will renew my respect for him.”
“We achieved a great result – goes on – and we had a strong and combative opponent. I can almost say that I feel sorry for him, but I am very happy that the project started a year ago with ‘Anima’ has resulted in a great victory. After the first round I didn’t expect a gap of 10 points but today it was confirmed that the run-off will start from scratch and today it was like that too. The fact that Fulvio Fellegara responded to my request for electoral support had an important impact on this result. From tomorrow we’ll start talking about everything, at the moment I’m too excited.”
