The municipal council, on the proposal of the Mayor as contact person for the reconstruction, approved the executive project relating to the renovation works of the San Nicolò sports hall.
The intervention, financed by the commissioner structure with 350,000 euros from the earthquake-snow funds, includes in particular the complete restoration of the roofing sheath and all the damaged parts, thus responding to the need for a complete renovation of the roof .
“As Administration – underlines the Mayor Gianguido D’Alberto – we have always been aware of the importance of carrying out a definitive intervention on a multi-purpose sports facility which is a reference not only for the San Nicolò area but for the whole city and which will continue to be the scene of events and championships of national importance. For this reason, after having obtained the relevant financing, thanks to coordinated work with the USR, we worked to arrive at the executive project, definitively approved by the council in recent days and preparatory to the start of the works. It was a long journey, followed by the former Councilor for Public Works, Giovanni Cavallari, but which will allow us to remedy all the problems that the plant has had since its birth. This will put an end to all the uncomfortable situations which, unfortunately, have been paid by sports clubs at times, thanks to an organic and complete intervention which lays the foundations for further investments in the structure”.
“With this intervention we will carry out the complete renovation of the roof – explains the Sports Councilor Alessandra Ferri – going to solve all those problems that have often made the structure unusable by the various clubs, especially those of handball and roller sports. The objective is to start the works as soon as possible, to allow the clubs to experience the next sporting season with greater peace of mind.”
