“2024 represents the turning point for our association. We have emerged from the pandemic emergency for just over a year, but the dynamics have not yet completely normalized: this is a discussion that applies to us, as well as to all the healthcare facilities that deal with the health of citizens. However, the first months of 2024 saw a significant recovery in activity for the Pavia LILT, with an increase in requests for services”. Maria Rosaria Blago, oncologist who since 2018 has held the position of “High Specialty” in medical breast cancer at the Oncology Operating Unit of the Asst of Melegnano, since 2019 has been president of the Pavia provincial section of the LILT (Italian League for the Fight against Tumors). A task that she carries out with professional competence, great passion and attention to people’s needs. Supporting her in her task are the vice-president Luisa Gavotti with the board of directors, the director Giorgio Chierico, as well as all the doctors and volunteers who play a precious role.
At the LILT Pavia headquarters (in the photo, ed.) there are latest generation machines, such as a mammography with tomosynthesis: it is a diagnostic test that combines the principles of traditional mammography and those of tomography. “To guarantee these services, of a very high level, we must necessarily be able to count on important resources – states the president Maria Rosaria Blago -. This is why the help of our supporters becomes fundamental.”
