The young man, of North African origin but in fact an Italian citizen, attempted to flee at the sight of the police, first hiding and then escaping on his bicycle. Immediately reached by the police near Piazza Ugo Bassi, he was taken to the police station. During the journey the young man had become particularly agitated, even throwing himself at the policemen several times, fortunately without injuring them. The bicycle with which the boy had escaped was later found to be stolen, as reported only a few hours before the police arrived.
The group of three had acted by approaching a foreign citizen near Via Marconi, asking if he wanted to buy one of their bikes and, subsequently, after jerking him, they had managed to take possession of the gold chain he was wearing, and then proceeded to attack him. leak. Several witnesses witnessed the scene, immediately alerting the police. A second member of the group – of Tunisian origin – was found by Polfer staff inside the station, intent on taking a train heading north. He too was identified and taken to the police station, while the third member of the group has not yet been identified.
