Tragedy in the Brescia area, where a couple was hit and killed by a train. The dynamics have not yet been clarified, but it could be an extreme gesture. The victims are a man and a woman whose details are not currently known. The police are investigating the incident.
The tragedy
The incident happened shortly after 1pm at the San Zeno Naviglio station, in the Brescia area, on the stretch of tracks between via Belleguardello (Montirone) and the San Zeno station. There couple she was hit by a moving train. According to initial information, the two would first have tried to do away with the car’s exhaust fumes. Then, failing to do so, they threw themselves under the convoy. The car was found on the side of the tracks.
The rescue
The Areu (Regional Emergency Emergency Company) reported the incident. Polfer agents, the Brescia firefighters and the 118 operators intervened on site with two ambulances. An air ambulance was also activated. Having arrived at the scene of the tragedy, the health workers could not do anything but confirm the death of the two people.
Rail traffic suspended
