An evening of culture with a capital C last Saturday in Piazza Cesare Ottaviano Augusto, in Velletri. Under the careful and impeccable direction of the maestro Claudio Maria Micheli, with the soprano Emanuela Di Gregorio, the baritone Massimo Di Stefano, the countertenor Antonello Dorigo, Olga Volkova and Marco Attura on the pianos, it was staged in the suggestive setting of the square adjacent to the Town Hall , with a skilfully curated play of lights, Carl Orff’s opera, “Carmina Burana”, an event which registered a large number of passionate spectators, probably beyond all expectations, demonstrating the numerous people who assisted standing. The evening ended with an ovation for maestro Micheli and all the performers, the Ruggero Giovannelli choir of Velletri, that of the School of Popular Music of Testaccio Percussion Ensemble Roma and Harmonia Vocalis. Definitely a successful and memorable cultural event that we hope will not remain isolated. The organization was managed by ArtisticaMente, Pro Loco Velitrae and Europa Musica with the patronage of the Municipality of Velletri. The organizers of ArtisticaMente themselves wanted to thank the citizens for their large participation: “The title seems obvious for a sure success but everything was above our expectations. We wanted to thank first of all the municipal administration in the name of the Mayor Ascanio Cascella and the deputy mayor Chiara Ercoli for having strongly believed together with us in this project and in this wonderful event which in the splendid square of the Municipality was and will certainly be one of the most beautiful events of this summer. A dutiful thanks goes to Maestro Renzo Renzi and Director Claudio Maria Micheli for the work carried out impeccably. We thank the fantastic choirs, the musicians who are also superlative, the service, Flying Ideas in the name of Roberto Scognamillo for the splendid photos and filming, all the workers but above all we thank the public who were wonderful”, we read in the short note issued on the official social channels. Even the mayor commented favorably on the success of the concert: “An extraordinary event, full of emotions, thanks to the energy released by the music and the voices of the choirs. It was wonderful to see the square packed with people, united by a passion for music and culture. Our Velletri should always be like this, beautiful.”
