TRENT. He attempted to rob a girl after spotting her on the bus: when the young woman got off, he followed her and then tried to snatch her cell phone. It happened yesterday morning (June 23) in Trento. The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section arrested a thirty-two-year-old Moroccan citizen, a convicted felon.
The man was traveling on board the same city bus as the victim, a twenty-six year old from Trento, who was returning from her work shift: after approaching her with the excuse of asking her – insistently – for a cigarette, he decided to follow her once she got off, alarmed by her behavior, at the first possible stop, that is, via Conci.
The girl thus tried to escape, without however the man giving up his intent, on the contrary: after reaching her, he tried to snatch the cell phone from her hands, however, finding firm resistance. At this point the girl, after having also been hit with a slap to the facefound providential refuge inside a nearby building, where in the meantime he had repeatedly called the intercom.
The man thus decided to move away, but was quickly tracked down, still in the immediate vicinity, by the Carabinieri, who intervened immediately following a phone call received to the Single Emergency Number “112”.
The arrested man was thus taken to the security rooms of the Army barracks in via Barbacovi, awaiting the immediate trial which will be held today.
