The donation on the occasion of the inauguration of the new plaque for the centenary of the former Sanatorium
Legnano – Il Parco ex-Ila has always been a park with a social and socio-welfare vocationwith his 70 hectares of greeneryand, as also remembered on the occasion ofinauguration of the new plaque for the centenary of the former Legnano Sanatorium, built right inside the park. And right here, on the morning of Sunday 23 June it was the 34th public defibrillator in the city of Legnano was inaugurated. It was donated by my fellow journalist Andrea Accorsi in memory of his dear mother Marie Therese Durrer in Accorsi, passed away in 2020.
“The ex-Ila Park, a park that has made “care for the person” its main action, since the time of the construction of the Sanatorium and today with the presence of numerous associations for the care of the most fragile, could only be the ideal place to install this new public device, the 34th, 105 total defibrillators installed in the city and mapped within the‘special App“note the president of the 60milavitedasalvare Association Mirco Jurinovic.
Death from cardiac arrest occurs every year in the Western world, more than 1 person per 1,000 inhabitants: therefore there are approximately 70,000 cases per year in Italy (over 10% of all deaths that occur in our country). Furthermore, the average age has dropped and cases are increasingly increasing.
“The defibrillator is a fundamental tool in the emergency of a cardiac arrest: five minutes between hope and tragedy, the emergency vehicles take 12 minutes to reach the emergency site. 50% of people were saved thanks to the use of the defibrillator”Jurinovic notes. “Yet the spread of this life-saving tool in our country is still far away, the law was approved in 2021, but it is still missing important implementation components”.
