Trento gropes, robs a young woman and then blames her in the courtroom: a man convicted

In November 2018 he attacked and put his hands on the thighs, chest and buttocks of a twenty-year-old at the bus stop in via Maccani in Trento. The man, a 39-year-old Peruvian – who the victim had then identified thanks to social media – had thrown her young girl to the ground and stole her money and cell phone, which he then returned. For those facts the man, accused of sexual assault and robbery, was sentenced by the court to two years, three months and ten days in prison and a 540 euro fine, in addition to compensation to be paid to the young woman. This sentence was confirmed by the Appeal and the Court of Cassation. But it is not the only sentence that the Peruvian has “earned”. Accused of having slandered the victim, of having told the courtroom that the thief was the twenty-year-old, who had kissed and touched him in order to skillfully steal his cell phone and wallet, he was also proven wrong by the testimony of a nun and in recent days Judge Enrico Borrelli found him guilty of slander and inflicted, in continuation with the previous crimes, 8 months and 20 days in prison, granting compensation of 2 thousand euros to the young woman, assisted by the lawyer Giuliano Valer. Who declares: «The initiative to also denounce this last segment of the bitter affair proved to be appropriate and necessary for the dutiful protection of the honorability of my client, not only outside the courtroom, but also inside, as she was It immediately seemed intolerable that the accused could defend himself by accusing and slandering this young woman, who was returning home from a day of work, of theft.”
