The highlight of the week will be the re-enactment of the Battle that decided the fate of the Second Punic War: as many as 200 participants are ready to relive, on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, the moment in which the Romans defeated the Punic army, preventing Hasdrubal from bringing reinforcements to his brother Annibale. «The Battle of Metauro – points out Corrado Re, coordinator of the re-enactment – comes back to life thanks to over 25 professional historical re-enactment associations from all over Europe for an immersive experience that will allow you to delve into the historical reality of the period by visiting faithful reconstructions of the Roman military camps and Carthaginians”.

Great space for poetry: the “Pride of the Marche 2023”, the Montefelcinese poet Augusta Tommassini will present her latest collection of poems “Two valleys, an echo” on Wednesday 26 June at 9pm at Villa Palombara and there will be an evening dedicated to poetry dialect of local authors in the square tomorrow, Tuesday 25th, at 9pm (Monteguiduccio, Piazza Marchetti Duilio). The week as Capital of Montefelcino will be embellished by the music of the Banda Musicale Cittadine di Montefelcino «an active presence in our territory which turns 110 this year, a reality in which music is cultivated from a young age – says Noemi Rossi, representative of the Band – on Monday 24th in Valzangona we will propose a concert with the most famous songs of Italian music and for the occasion we will present our Junior Band”.

Music will also accompany the grand finale of the week with the peasant Notturno by Orchestra Olimpa at the Agriturismo Villa San Marco. And then night walks, theatrical shows in Lis and the charm of ancient itinerant crafts at the Museum; there will be no shortage of local flavors with Cosa c’è Dop, Wednesday 26 June at 6pm at Bar Flaminia and Thursday 27 June at Circolo Don Bosco.
