CASSANO MAGNAGO – It has been officially filed the definitive project for the construction of the fourth lot of the Cassano Magnago ring road. This was announced by the Councilor for Public Works, Rocco Dabraio, planning all the steps that will lead to the start of the last tranche of work. «If everything goes according to plan – explains executive member Ottaviani – we start in November».
The fourth batch
The fourth batch, due to the increase in expenses, had gone from a cost of 6 million euros to a total of 8 million euros. This is why the council decided to take out (also) a loan to carry out the work, taking into account – as it has already explained the budget councilor, Luisa Savoginin the Commission last January – that it is “a sustainable debt for the Municipality, calculating the percentage of interest on current revenues”. The Lombardy Region, in reality, had already financed the tranche of the ring road with 4.4 million euros. Without forgetting the possibility of requesting a new contribution together with the Province of Varese, given the increase in costs suffered by such an important work.
The importance of the ring road
Beyond the numbers, now we are there. Dabraio says: «We will soon be competing with the third lot of the ring road». And therefore we will first create the section from 940 thousand euros, of which 600 thousand provided by the Lombardy Region. «Then in November we will finally be able to start with the last stretch». The infrastructure, once complete, will make it possible to divert access to the urban center for heavy vehicles, in line with the anti-truck solutions already implemented. It will also allow us to reduce pollution and reduce traffic. «The arrival of the final project for the fourth lot is proof that concrete work is underway to carry out the works promised to citizens. The ring road will be built entirely: Who knows what those who claimed it was just a dream will now think?».
