ROVIGO – Great satisfaction again for the young Polesans who, as part of the regional competitions last Sunday 16 June 2024 in Spresiano, they won the regional phase of the Coni Trophy which was contested in the single kayak specialty over a distance of 2000m for both the male and female Students B and Cadet categories. In fact, the regulation provided that for the purposes of the Coni Veneto Trophy ranking, only the best placing obtained in each category by the first athlete of each registered club was taken into consideration.

The Canoe Polesine Rovigo Group team was the first place in the 2024 edition of the Coni Trophy and, for the first time in its history, it will have the honor of representing Veneto at the national finalwhich will be held in Catania from 3 to 6 October 2024as, based on the ranking positions, it has achieved the lowest score from the sum of the points obtained by the best crew for each individual competition foreseen by the technical regulations.

The remarkable result is the result of meticulous preparatory work that the Association has implemented in recent years. Already during the 2023 season, the Polesani had demonstrated that they were a very competitive team in all youth categories, coming close to winning which then narrowly faded in favor of Canottieri Mestre.

Even if, according to the regulation, only the first four athletes (two males and two females) are selected, the result is thanks to the whole team as even those who were not selected ensured that the competitors from the opposing teams were in lower positions in general classification and would therefore allow the best athletes to have a greater gap from their pursuers.

The Venetian team will therefore be made up of athletes from the Canoe Polesine Rovigo Asd Group with Anna Lucchin And Emma Albertin representing the Students B and the Cadettes, while the men will be respectively Marco Bergo And Samuele Zennaro. The young people from Polesine who wear the Coni Veneto uniform will be accompanied by the instructor Mariangela Benà who contributed so much to the formation of this competitive team.

Thanks to all those who have done their utmost to support the kids in recent years but, especially to the athletes themselves, who, thanks to their constant commitment, passion and dedication to canoeing, have led to this great satisfaction for our Association and for the city of Rovigo.
