Gianni Mania, a young man from Santa Croce Camerina, died at the age of 34. For some time he had been living in Marina di Ragusa.

The young man, an employee of a local company producing pliers and rootstocks for agriculture, was well known and respected. His death, after a short illness, left his family, his girlfriend Angela, and the many friends who loved him in despair and pain. The young man was also a musician and member of a local musical band.

The mayor of Santa Croce Camerina, Peppe Dimartino, expressed the city’s condolences “for the passing of Gianni Manìa, a young man appreciated in our community and who was always loved for his affable and helpful character. A life cut off too soon, unjustly, is a great pain for all of Santa Croce. On behalf of myself, the municipal administration and the entire city, I extend my heart to the family and all their loved ones.”

Condolences were also expressed by the Risveglio bandistico kamarinense association, of which Gianni had been a member, by the “Alessandro Scarlatti” band corps and by the Amici della Musica association of Chiaramonte Gulfi, by the Caravaglios band corps of Comiso, by the Città di Vittoria, from the Pro Loco of Mazzarelli, from the friends of the parish of the Annunziata of Comiso, from numerous friends. A friend, in a post on Facebook, defined him as a “boy who brings smiles” due to his good, affable character, always available to everyone.
