Cagliari, the pictorial humanization project at Businco

The new humanization project of the new radiotherapy room at the Businco oncology clinic in Cagliari will be inaugurated tomorrow morning at 12. An initiative of the Ivi association, which just under a year ago delivered its first project to the microcitemic hospital in Cagliari. Objective? Make the walls of the waiting room and CT room of the pediatric radiology department less sad. The works of the Sally Galotti Healthcare Design Studio will color the rooms, which will be blessed by the Archbishop of Cagliari, Giuseppe Baturi.

«The strength that drives me to continue is the knowledge that children must always smile, they must live and face difficult moments with a smile. Many even spontaneously gave their contribution, collaborating to organize events and making small donations or purchasing the autobiographical book”, explains Antonella, who in addition to the constant support of her family, collaborated with the NuNu and Cuore e mani opened associations for this project. «We managed to raise 25 thousand euros to be able to humanize the entire room with the sole aim of making the difficult path to overcome in a delicate phase of the disease less stressful and sad for the girls and boys».

Antonella’s initiatives began when her son Ivaldo, 8 years old, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The woman turns pain into color, so as to make the hospital journey for children and families less traumatic. She is stubborn and her first project ends with the creation of colorful drawings and figures that speak of freedom and life in the waiting room and the CT room of the Microcitemico.
