Update on the fire at the waste depot this morning, which comes from the Civitavecchia Fire Brigade.
The flames originated in a sector of the waste warehouse owned by the company Porcarelli Gino & co srl containing approximately 90 cubic meters of unsorted waste, within which there were no special and/or dangerous waste.
The fire fighters who promptly intervened extinguished the flames in just over half an hour and prevented them from spreading to the entire quantity of waste and to the adjacent sectors, which were already separated from each other by reinforced concrete structures.
However, the reclamation operations (with the help of operating machines owned by the same company) continued for approximately another two hours.
Vehicles of the Civitavecchia Fire Brigade: Aps (17/A) and Autobotte (AB/17) with the help of a tanker (AB/34) coming from the Fiumicino detachment and a wagon used to transport the breathing apparatus for the change of devices on site.
Due to the timely extinguishing intervention which also took place with the aid of the operating machines (which provided for the dismantling of the materials necessary to extinguish the fires) it was not possible to trace the origin of the fire.
