The initiatives of COAPIthe Coordination of Italian Farmers and Fishermen, continue after tractor mobilisations occurred in January and February in Italy and Europe. The movement, born with the aim of grow and expandaims to create a united space for those in Italy fighting against the agri-food crisispromoting food sovereignty and agroecology.

The June 25thin Calabriaa day will be held meetings and public initiatives in the context of five days (21-26 June) dedicated to right to produce and ai environmental rightspart of the campaign #99days to save agriculture and fishing by reopening hope. This campaign, which will end in Rome on July 14thaims to create a “general platform” to address the crisis documented by farmers’ mobilisations. The goal is to develop new united mobilisations in the coming months, based on shared goals between farmers, fishermen, citizens and labourers, and to deal with the governments and the national and regional institutions to propose solutions.

The day in Calabria will be an opportunity for COAPI to meet various social realities engaged in the territories against the agri-food crisisin view of important appointments of the next few weeks and new ones planned mobilizations for the next few months. The public day will be divided into two moments: at 12 to the port of Cirò Marina will be held a meeting and a press conference with fishermen returning from a fishing trip in Ionianand at 19at themunicipal amphitheater of Cropani Marinaaassembly with farmers, breeders, fishermen, technicians, labourers, citizens, mayors and representatives of the Region.
