ANCONA – They caught them in the act while they were tinkering around a road tractor, with the clear intention of taking the fuel from the vehicle’s tank to transfer it into the tank or into another container and then disappear into a car parked nearby. Late yesterday morning, the officers stopped three people in the Baraccola area, after a report, they were found at the end of a small road: two were near the vehicle while one was waiting nearby inside a parked car.
The officers, who arrived on site, immediately noticed that on the ground between the two men near the tractor there was a plastic pipe of approximately 2.50 cm, with a metal “transfer pump” still dripping with diesel fuel inserted at one end. probably used for transferring fuel into a 25 liter can, ready to be loaded into the luggage compartment of the car, where another 5 cans full of diesel fuel were lined up. Furthermore, the tank cap was open and smeared with an oily substance.
Upon initial checks, the three were found to be residents of the province: an Italian, but of Moldovan origin, aged 35, with a history of crimes against property, the other two of Moldovan citizenship, aged 47 respectively, in a regular position in Italy and 44 years old (with a criminal record). The 44-year-old, with a regular car rental contract from a company in Bolzano, then reported to the police that shortly before he had met the Italian citizen in a business in the area, who had offered him diesel from his vehicle in exchange for financial compensation.
The investigations revealed that the tractor was rented to a transport company in Rome (for which the Italian citizen carried out the task of professional driver with a regular contract), whose legal representative subsequently filed a complaint regarding the incident and the three men were reported.
