TO Castellino Tanaro there is the “Sagra della Lela”, a traditional summer festival in the month of June which enhances the typical dish of the Municipality of Castellino Tanaro, “La Lela”, a simple bread but with great personality and bearer of ethical values. The event is enriched with the market of typical products, photographic exhibitions, walks, visits to the tower and the Miss Lela competition and good music. Lela once meant “hunger” because it was the traditional peasant food, in the collective imagination linked to the economic difficulties that characterized this social class that often lived with difficulty and in poverty. During the holiday the town is decorated with colorful flowers. La Lela has recently become very well known thanks to national television broadcasts. “La Lela”, a poor bread, also called “last moment bread”, unleavened, shapeless and cooked on the stovetop. Accompany tastings of local dishes including cheeses at the food stands. These are small last minute appetizers that are very easy to make and do not require an oven to cook. TO Castiglione Tinella, as part of the patron saint’s day of San Luigi, from 3pm in the historic center “Parade in motion” by Il Bazar: a fashion show with the participation of Benessere in Langa, Jafra Make Up Artist, Immagine hairdresser, La Fioreria di Chiara & Marina, Le Sferruzzine, with photo shooting by Enrica Pavese Foto. In the evening, from 8pm, in the square “Evening with pizza and fried fish” and from 9.30pm live music with the “Kinder Police”, a tribute band of the great English group.

Furthermore a Castiglione Tinella the inauguration is scheduled for 5pm two new works that enrich the panoramic balcony of via Cavour. This is how the “Via Artistica” project develops in the historic center of the town, which intends to collect a series of sculptures created by various authors. The two works positioned these days were created by two artists from Castiglione who work with ceramics in its different forms: Manuela Incorvaia prepared the work “La cura” for the project, while Roberto Di Giorgio presents his “Tra i calanchi il sea”.

Mango is wrapped in medieval atmospheres through the annual appointment with the “Festa at the Court of the Marquises of Busca”. From 10am the town comes alive with costumed characters, street artists, market stalls and even archery demonstrations. At 10.30 the Marquis and his court will enter the square, followed by the ceremony of appointment of ladies and knights. At 12pm the “Medieval Banquet” with the culinary delights of the marquisate, and from 2.30pm shows by the Teatro del Fantastico and the Busca lost treasure hunt for children.
