Ballot, three municipalities return to the polls

Saturday 22 June 2024 – 6.10pm

Pontedera, Ponsacco and San Miniato. These are the municipalities in the province of Pisa where, tomorrow and Monday, citizens will be called to return to the polls for the run-off round.

These are those municipalities with over 15 thousand inhabitants where the mayor was not elected in the first round in the elections of 8 and 9 June: that is, where none of the candidates obtained at least 50% plus one of the votes.

In Tuscany there will be a total of 18 municipalities that will return to the polls on 23 and 24 June. We vote tomorrow from 7am to 11pm And Monday from 7am to 3pm.

For the province of Pisa, the mayoral candidates on the ballot are Matteo Franconi and Matteo Bagnoli in Pontedera, Fabrizio Lupi and Gabriele Gasperini in Ponsacco, Simone Giglioli and Michele Altini in San Miniato.

Here are the mayoral candidates for the three municipalities and the percentages of votes obtained in the first round:

Ponsacco

  • Fabrizio Lupi (Democratic Party, For Ponsacco, Ponsacco in Movimento): in the first round 40.8% (3,129 votes)
  • Gabriele Gasperini (Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Ponsacco Si.Cura, Forza Italia): in the first round 30.9% (2,371 votes)

Pontedera

  • Matteo Franconi (Democratic Party, Corri Con, Puccinelli for Pontedera, Progetto Pontedera): in the first round 49.30% (6,938 votes)
  • Matteo Bagnoli (Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Forza Italia, Pontedera Al Centro): in the first round 37.93% (5,338 votes)

San Miniato

  • Simone Giglioli (Democratic Party, Noi Per San Miniato): in the first round 40.78% (5,756 votes)
  • Michele Altini (Brothers of Italy, Forza Italia – Ppe-Pli-Lega Salvini Premier-Noi Moderati): in the first round 29.65% (4,185 votes)
