TO Cerisano (CS), in the beautiful Sersale palace, the first edition of the “Desf4future” summer school: discovering Desf. An educational orientation path for the valorization of excellence. The “Giovanni Anania” Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance of the University of Calabria (DESF), in collaboration with the Administration of the Municipality of Cerisano, organized the first edition of the “Desf4future” Summer School.
A school intended for the excellence of secondary schools in Calabria interested in undertaking university studies in economics, statistics and finance. The Summer School intends to enhance the particularly deserving students of the fourth year of the aforementioned schools, offering them a multidisciplinary oriented educational path aimed at discovering economics, statistics and finance and based on classroom lessons alternating with laboratory activities and group work , testimonies, moments of sociality and conviviality.
The peculiarity of the Summer School is to be residential and free. Those admitted will stay inside the guesthouse of Palazzo Sersale, or in B&Bs located near the structure, made available by theMunicipal Administration of Cerisano. The lessons and activities will be held inside the Sersale Palace and in the classrooms of the University of Calabria (UniCal).
The objectives
The Summer School mainly aims to encourage cultural growth and awareness of the skills of the participants, as well as sociality and the discovery of the opportunities offered by UniCal and Desf. “In particular, the aim is to stimulate curiosity towards economics, statistics and finance through a learning process based on the presentation of real cases and the discussion of highly topical issues”let the University and the municipal administration know.
Particular attention will be dedicated to in-depth studies on the issues of the regional economy, financial education and the new challenges posed by the circular economy and the digitalisation of data.
The Summer School will start on Sunday 23 June with the participants meeting at 5.00 pm at the historic residence of Palazzo Sersale located in the historic center of Cerisano. The activities will end at the University of Calabria at 5pm on June 27th. The typical day includes various activities: in addition to teaching and group work, there are visits, shows, testimonies and social moments.
The scientific and organizing committee is made up of Pier Francesco Perri, Ugo Adamo, Ilaria Lucrezia Amerise, Paola Cardamone, Concetta Castiglione, Paolo Carmelo Cozzucoli, Marco Alberto De Benedetto, Lucia Errico, Rosetta Lombardo, Milena Lopreite, Rosanna Nisticò, Sandro Rondinella, Alessandro Staino, Gessica Vella.
The Summer School is part of a broader project called “Cerisano Factory – Borgo swing”, which is supported by the Ministry of Culture as part of the PNRR, Mission 1 Mis. 2 Int. 2.1: “Attractiveness of historic villages” financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
