Andria ring road and traffic jams on the evening of Friday 21 June due to an accident which occurred around 8pm near the large bend leading to provincial road 2. According to what has been reconstructed, the accident would have started from the collision between a car and a van, with the latter impacting against a side pole supporting some cables. The pole, once hit, would have partially collapsed causing the cables to fall into the street while two heavy vehicles arrived and had to stop their journey. Fortunately there were no serious consequences for the people on board the four vehicles. The carabinieri and firefighters of the provincial command of Barletta intervened on site. The ring road was closed in both directions for about half an hour. Around 8.30 pm the road system was then re-established, once the accident vehicles and cables had been moved. The pole located on the other side of the roadway connected to the first one with the cables overwhelmed by heavy vehicles was also damaged. Between 8pm and 8.30pm, due to the accident that blocked the ring road, car traffic spilled into via Bisceglie and other neighboring streets, creating further disruption to traffic.
