Man dead alone at home. According to the autopsy there was malignant arrhythmia – AndriaLive.it

The 68-year-old man found lifeless on the afternoon of June 15th in his home in via Piemonte in Andria died of malignant arrhythmia. This is the result of the autopsy performed on the body of the Andria man who died, according to the doctors, about a month before the discovery. It would have been emotional stress, an extreme state probably due to living alone and for which psychological support would have been necessary.

A rather frequent situation as specified by Don Geremia Acri himself, head of the Casa Accoglienza “Santa Maria Goretti” and of the Migrantesliberi Community.

The priest reiterated that loneliness is taking root in our society and does not only concern fragile, sick and elderly people (who certainly experience a condition of greater vulnerability) but also self-sufficient and even young people: «How much do we worry about those who are alone? How much do we live with and for each other? Today it is common for children to be unable to care for their family members. In the summer especially, when our only concern is to go on holiday, we usually think: “Who do I leave this old man with?””.

Last week, one of the victim’s relatives raised the alarm and called for help. In fact, he had tried to contact the man several times and, having failed, he had decided to call the emergency number. The intervention of the police and firefighters had been necessary on site to gain access to the interior of the house.
