Lecce raises a wall: “jewels” to defend

LECCE – From the European showcase to market rumors. Marin Pongracic and Ylber Ramadani are two of the three Giallorossi involved in the Euro 2024 season with their respective national teams. But this is not the only aspect in common between the two, who also faced each other last Wednesday in the explosive 2-2 draw between Croatia and Albania. The two are also united by transfer rumors which have become increasingly insistent in recent days, also due to their use in the European championship. Both have played an excellent season with the Lecce shirt and being able to compete in the most important continental tournament for nations only highlights their value even more.

Pongracic is one of the most followed players by various clubs, not only Italian but also foreign. In Salento he found his best form, returning to being that reliable central defender who had arrived to play the Champions League with the Borussia Dortmund shirt no later than two seasons ago. From training with Erling Haaland, his teammate in the yellow and black, to his return to a permanent position with the Croatia shirt, in between two seasons with Lecce which did not go unnoticed in the eyes of the experts. In Serie A, the number of suitors has increased in recent weeks. Bologna, busy building the squad that will take part in the next Champions League, and Fiorentina have requested information on the Croatian central defender. But Napoli under the new coach Antonio Conte would also be on his trail.

During the European Championships in Germany, Pongracic started the opening group match against Spain, while he remained on the bench in the second match against Albania. The same match in which, on the other side of the pitch, there was Ramadani, one of the pillars of the national selection coached by coach Sylvinho. Even just one season with the Lecce shirt was enough for him to make his mark and start making waves in the transfer market. In Italy, there has also been an interest in him from Napoli, who intend to strengthen their midfield. The Giallorossi club does not want to deprive itself of its metronome and is only willing to negotiate when faced with economically important offers. Last summer, the Albanian director was signed by Scottish club Aberdeen for a fee of just over one million euros. After his first season in Serie A, lived as a protagonist from start to finish, in the role of immovable starter in the middle of the pitch, his value has significantly increased. Yet another coup by Pantaleo Corvino with a view to capitalizing the club.

SUBSCRIPTION CAMPAIGN «A Sud», is the slogan of Lecce’s new season ticket campaign for the next Serie A championship. The presentation took place yesterday morning at the Officine Deghi HQ, with speeches by vice president Corrado Liguori assisted by marketing manager Andrea Micati and the ticket office manager Angelica De Mitri, while the manager of the «Lecce Program» initiative Ilenia De Pascalis listed the initiatives that will involve the fans who decide to sign up for the «USLecce Program» card. Present at the conference were the President Saverio Sticchi Damiani, the Board Members Silvia and Dario Carofalo and the General Director Giuseppe Mercadante. Speakers included Alberto Paglialunga, CEO of Deghi (main sponsor), and Andrea Corleto, district coordination manager of Banca Popolare Pugliese (shirt sponsor and partner of the season ticket campaign). This year too, the season ticket campaign will be characterized by keeping prices unchanged compared to the last championship, with discounted rates for old season ticket holders, for women, for those under 18 and for those over 70, as well as a special rate for companies. All season ticket holders will receive a free backpack with the writing “A Sud”, the slogan of the campaign. «The presentation of the season ticket campaign is an important event that is aimed at the main actors of this project, namely the fans – said Liguori – The motto is “A Sud”. In such a context in which Serie A is made up of many teams from the north, there is a small reality made up of entrepreneurs who, with economic sacrifices, are managing to carry forward a project like ours. Everyone is working a miracle, starting with the fans. Passion cannot be fought with excessive economic power, so we must defend it at all costs and be proud of all this.”

The starting point is the 21,247 season ticket holders from last season: «We have no objectives other than to surpass ourselves in every sense, that is, to all give more than our best to defend this important category. There will be no upheavals in this season ticket campaign, so we totally confirm last year’s rates.”
