PORDENONE – Everything is ready for the third day of the sixth edition of the Piano City Pordenone Festival, the piano festival with over 80 concerts, 100 pianists, 23 different locations including public spaces, streets, squares and private places, and above all a large participation of people , music lovers and non-music lovers, adults and children, residents and tourists.

Over 30 free concerts are scheduled for Sunday: it starts at 10.30 am with four simultaneous performances by very young talents, some not even in their twenties, in the Loggia of the Town Hall, and in the courtyards of Palazzo Gregoris, Palazzo Loredan Porcia and Palazzo Policreti , they will try their hand at classical and romantic repertoire. A real magic in notes that envelops the city and involves everyone, even those simply walking or drinking a coffee in the streets of the centre.

We continue with classical music with other very young pianists in the same courts, at the Loggia del Municipio and at the Convent of San Francesco with other very young pianists such as the duo of the Friulian Alessandro Del Gobbo with the Japanese Marlene Tanaka, the duo of the Opitergine Dallagnese sisters , Enrico Mazzola, Gabriele Benvenuto, Camilla Camerotto, Margherita Paulon, Teresa Cassiano and Alberto Schiffo..

At 12, appointment in the convent of San Francesco with the Queen Piano Transcriptions by the Friulian pianist who combines classical, jazz and pop Sebastian Di Bin.

At 4.30 pm in the Convento San Francesco, a consolidated event of the festival returns with Playful900 – Portrait of Ferruccio Busoni curated by Aldo Orvieto: seven young pianists will take turns at the keys in a repertoire of classical music that pays homage to the pianist and composer considered one of the greatest personalities of contemporary music, a visionary artist who has been able to innovate and challenge the conventions of musical expression, a true symbol of artistic change that continues to inspire generations.

Same location at 5.30pm for the winner of the International Piano Competition Radovljica Kuan-Wei Chen, originally from Taiwan, who is part of the very rich afternoon programme.

Grand finale with the awaited concert of. Uri Caine entitled “Change” which takes up the song included in the album The Passion of Octavius ​​Catto, a work dedicated to Octavius ​​Catto, activist for African-American civil rights, murdered in Philadelphia in 1871.

The appointment is at 9pm in Piazza XX Settembre with a musician at the top of contemporary jazz for over 30 years, capable of reinterpreting the sounds of the past with the present, mixing genres and creating a unique, eclectic and always disruptive style. Uri Caine began studying classical piano at the age of 12 and then discovered the great names of jazz such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis and created, over time, a truly free and difficult to pigeonhole style that breaks down the boundaries between genres, mixing jazz, r&b , classical, funk, gospel.

The Festival is organized by the Piano City Pordenone ETS Committee with the collaboration of the Municipality of Pordenone, the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Friuli Foundation and numerous institutional and private partners.
