Naples. Deadly weapons and stolen objects found on board a stolen car in Scampia. The Carabinieri of the local station, during a routine check in via Colorini, discovered a veritable arsenal inside a stolen Smart car.

The car, parked in the area known as “the Smurfs’ house”, immediately aroused the suspicion of the military, who often come across vehicles used to hide drugs. But what they found in front of them was very different from the usual: a real robbery workshop.

Inside the Smart, the Carabinieri found a pistol and two dog swatters
and numerous bullets.

The weapons were equipped with a macabre accessory: a drill bit embedded in the stock. A deadly weapon which, according to investigators, could be used to break the windows of the victims’ cars and carry out violent robberies.

In addition to the weapons, a car radio, presumably stolen, a smartphone, a knife, jeans and a bomber jacket were also found in the car. All the material found was seized for appropriate investigations.

The car used as an operational base by a gang of robbers

The Carabinieri are now working to reconstruct the dynamics of the events and identify those responsible.

The main hypothesis is that the car was used by a gang of robbers who were rampant in the area. However, it cannot be ruled out that the Smart could be used as a base for other illicit activities.
