VIAREGGIO

The countdown begins for the arrival of the Robotics Festival, the event which aims to disseminate discoveries in the field of technological innovation, and anticipate those of tomorrow. It will arrive, organized by the Tech Care Foundation with the support of the Tuscany Regional Council, the Tuscan Regional Council, the University of Pisa, the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, the National Research Council, the Pisa Foundation and Arpa, and as promoters the Municipality of Viareggio, the Navigo Consortium and the Azimut-Benetti Group, on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June, hosted in the Viareggio-Bastia Viareggio Regatta Village, with a program full of meetings, talk shows, interactivity and applications on the subject of robotics and artificial intelligence. The main focus of the event, in the headquarters of the most important nautical district in Italy, will be centered on marine robotics and, in particular, on recreational robotics. “Having the Robotics Festival in Viareggio – comments the Tourism Councilor Alessandro Meciani – is a privilege for which we have worked hard. Having it within the Viareggio Bastia is an added value both for the event itself which is enriched with content specific to both the nautical and technology sectors. Today we find ourselves at a crossroads, of artificial intelligence, robotics and new materials, which need to be told. This is why it is important to have figures like Professor Ferrari as a guide “.

In fact, over the two days, university professors, managers and teachers from highly professional training schools will alternate. The Festival will open on Wednesday at 4pm with a talk show featuring Roberto Saletti, Giovanni Lombardi, professors from the University of Pisa, Cesare Stefanini, director of the BioRobotics Institute of the Sant’Anna School, and Iacopo Senarega, R&D Project Manager of the Azimut Benetti Group. “These events are functional not only to show ways of innovating on construction sites, but also to create interconnection – says Barbara Papini for the Azimut group during the event’s press conference –. They are moments of knowledge and training, also due to the presence of students in the pipeline. We are happy to be able to participate actively, with the presence of Iacopo Senarega”.

On Thursday 27th, starting from 10am, there will be two sessions scheduled: the first, in which Sergio Saponara, professor at the University of Pisa, and Manuel Catalano, researcher at the University of Pisa and the Italian Institute of Technology will take part. of Genoa, Marco Fontana, teacher at the Sant’Anna School, and Senarega, will also see remote connections from shipyards that apply innovations in the nautical sector. “Technology is one of the key drivers of the new young customer of today and tomorrow. Boating can be a unique context for the experimental application of robotics on board and on site”, declares Pietro Angelini, director of Navigo and moderator of the session. The day, and the Festival, will close with speeches, moderated by Paolo Ferragina and Cesare Stefanini, by Federico Niccolini and Sara Scipioni, university professors, Lorenzo Pollicardo, general secretary of SYBAss and Vincenzo Poerio, president of the ISYL Foundation.
