They were in the car when two men on a motorbike approached the car. Then the shots: rushed to hospital under code red.

A scooter pulled alongside their car and gunshots rang out. It happened in Guidonia, in a parking area, in the early afternoon of today, Friday 21 June 2024. The two, seriously injured, were sitting in a car in the car park in via della Stella Polare, a few steps from Parco Azzurro. The police and health workers immediately arrived on the scene: the two were urgently transported to hospital. They are in very serious conditions.
The dynamics of the shooting
There were two of them, uncle and nephew, both originally from North Africa. They were sitting inside their car, in the parking area of the municipality on the outskirts of the capital, to the north-east, when a scooter came alongside. There is no information on the people who were in the saddle. According to initial reconstructions, presumably, there must have been two of them. They approached the car with the two-wheelerperhaps with the intention of robbing the two men on board.
According to testimonies, both attackers were with their faces covered and armed. One had a gun in his hands, the other a knife. There would have been a scuffle, then the shots. The police from the nearby Tivoli station were on site and immediately opened investigations, gathering information on the case and testimonies. Images from video surveillance systems are also being examined.

How are the two injured men
The two attackers allegedly tried to rob them. Then the fight. And finally, the shooting. One of the two men was joined by a shot in the leg. The other, however, got out of the car and tried to chase the scooter. At that point, one of the men in the saddle fired some shots again. One hit him in the knee, the other wounded him in the temple. Both injured men were urgently transferred to Sant’Andrea, where they are under code red.
