Rome, 21 June. (askanews) – “Sport as a union between generations and cultures” was the title of the panel held during the third edition of the National University Festival, which soon saw the participation of Giovanni Malagò (President of CONI) and Vittorio Brumotti (host television and Bike-Trial Champion).
For Malagò “athletes are an example for young people, modern heroes. Let’s just think that athletes, even post-career, are testimonials for many brands and young people, consequently, see themselves in them. This makes us understand how successful their image can be, also in the sense of emulation.” The President of CONI then underlined: “Many young people go abroad and this is a defeat for our country. Sport could be a barrier to all of this, creating a model that allows for job opportunities.”
Vittorio Brumotti, on the other hand, declared: “Young people must do a lot of sport, because this allows them to get their adrenaline out. It is a relief valve that can avoid leading our children down the wrong paths.”
The third edition of the National University Festival is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Rome, the Lazio Region, the Italian Youth Agency and the National Youth Council, with the participation of ITA Airways and BPER Banca.
