CADELBOSCO ABOVE (Reggio Emilia) – The small municipality of Lower Reggio Emilia has recently elected its new mayor, Marino Zani, expression of a civic list. Meanwhile, the first municipal council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 25th with the installation of the council. Marco Piccinini, vice mayor with responsibility for the budget, Massimo Sassi councilor for schools, Diego Noci councilor for greenery and public works, Monica Cigni councilor for Volunteering, Valentina Calabrese for Security and Legality.
Zani, an agricultural entrepreneur, was president of Coldiretti, of Bonifica Parmigiana Moglia-Secchia and of Emilia Centrale, former vice president of the Emilia Agrarian Consortium and councilor of Legacoop Agroalimentare. A long experience which today sees him engaged as mayor of a quiet and industrious town of around 10 thousand souls, which however has had to deal with serious news events for some time. In 2021 the murder at Dante Gomme, today again the involvement of Antonio Sestito, convicted for those facts at first instance, in the maxi Titano investigation into paper mill companies and false invoices. What will the new mayor’s decisions be? “I’m sorry that our country is always present in this kind of difficult situations. I believe a lot needs to be done: initially it is important to coordinate with the police, then a discussion with the prefecture in order to then be able to act.”
