Cinema under the stars in Rovereto, starting with “Polaris”

For the cultural review Rovereto Summerwhich animates the city in the hottest months of the year, the SAT of Rovereto sets up one outdoor cinema room in the courtyard of Palazzo Alberti-Poja (Mart), in Corso Bettini 41. Wednesday 26 June at 9.30pm the first screening of the festival will be dedicated to the documentary “Polaris”, which tells the story of a skipper (captain of boats) who chose the ice of the far north to escape the memories of the past.

The Spanish director’s debut feature film Ainara Vera Esparzawas awarded last year with the Genziana d’Oro Best Film – “Città di Trento” Grand Prize to the 71. Trento Film Festival«for the powerful use of cinematic language in telling with empathy the story of two women who chart the course of their own destiny».

Captain in the Arctic, Hayat sails far from the rest of humanity and his traumatic childhood in France. However, when her younger sister, Leila, gives birth to a daughter, Inaya, the promise of a new beginning appears on the horizon. The worlds and lives of both are turned upside down. Guided by the North Star, they embark on a deeply personal journey to overcome the heavy family destiny that binds them.
