Rome, 21 June. – After the editions held in recent years in Dobbiaco, L’Aquila and Camigliatello Silano, the “Mountain Days” created by the Fai-Cisl are back: the place chosen this year by the Agri-food and Environmental Federation is Assisi, a city symbol of spirituality and of the Manifesto of the same name signed in 2020 for a human-scale economy against the climate crisis. Organized by the Federation together with Terra Viva, the Fai-Cisl Studi e Ricerche Foundation and the 3A social promotion association, the days will take place from 25 to 28 June with the title “Breathe. Work, person, territory”.

“We call together scholars, popularizers, artists, representatives of institutions and the productive world – explains Onofrio Rota, FAI-CISL General Secretary – to delve deeper into the objectives achieved and the achievements still to be achieved in the field of ecological transition, climate change, protection of the territory and development of internal areas, valorisation of the forestry heritage, starting from the central role played by the so-called ‘green suits’, i.e. agri-food, forestry and land reclamation consortia workers”.

The program includes two first intense mornings of discussions, testimonies and training, with the presence of 350 participants and guests and the interventions of over 20 speakers.

Tuesday 25 June at the Hotel Cenacolo in Assisi from 9.30am will be attended by: Simone Dezi, General Secretary of Fai-Cisl Umbria, the Mayor Stefania Proietti, the President of the Umbria Region Donatella Tesei, Monsignor Domenico Sorrentino, Bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra- Gualdo Tadino and Foligno, Onofrio Rota, General Secretary of the FAI-CISL, Paolo De Castro, former President of the EU Agriculture Commission, Michele Bellini, author of the book “Let’s Save Europe. Eight words to rewrite the future”, the economist Leonardo Becchetti, professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the demographer Sabrina Prati, Central Director of Istat, while the conclusions will be entrusted to Daniela Fumarola, Deputy General Secretary of the CISL.
In addition to some musical performances by Brother Alessandro scheduled during the works, a free concert by singer-songwriter Erica Boschiero will be held at 9.30 pm in Piazza Garibaldi, Santa Maria degli Angeli.

On Wednesday 26 June, again from 9.30 am at the Hotel Cenacolo in Assisi, speakers will be Angelo Manzotti, General Secretary of CISL Umbria, Tommaso Moramarco, Director of the CNR Hydrogeological Protection Research Institute, Stefania Proietti, Industrial Engineer of Energy Systems as well as Mayor of Assisi, followed by a round table with Roberto Morroni, Regional Councilor for Agri-food Policies and Mountain Development, Marco Bussone, National President of Uncem, Ermete Realacci, President of the Symbola Foundation and Severino Romano, expert in Forest Planning and professor at the University of Basilicata. The conclusions are entrusted to the leader of the national Fai-Cisl Onofrio Rota.

The conference “Human economics in the thought of Giuseppe Toniolo” will be held on Thursday 27 June at 5.30 pm in the same hotel with interventions by Onofrio Rota, General Secretary of the Fai-Cisl, Monsignor Domenico Sorrentino, Bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino and Foligno, prof. Aldo Carera, President of the Giulio Pastore Foundation, the President of the Fai-Cisl Studies and Research Foundation Vincenzo Conso and the Scientific Director Ludovico Ferro, and the conclusions of Luigi Sbarra, General Secretary of the CISL.

The CISL leader will also participate in the General Council of the Federation on Friday 28 June, an event that will conclude the FAI-CISL days.
